Missed the last plant swap? Green Venture has another one coming up! This exciting event will bring together fellow green thumbs and plant enthusiasts. The next Green Venture House Plant Swap is set to take place on June 15, 2024 10am to noon.
The last plant swap brought out seasoned and experienced plant parents and newbies alike! Many plants were donated and swapped including staghorn ferns, dracaenas, umbrella plants, pothos and more!
Here's what you can expect from the Houseplant Swap:
Date: June 15 2024
Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Come to the plant swap to learn about the latest “depave” project happening at Westinghouse in the Fall and join in the stewardship event happening to revitalize the garden beds at Woodlands Park.
You can participate in both events, but that's not mandatory. Woodlands Park is located near 541 Cafe so drop by for a coffee and treat after the event and support the pay-it-forward social enterprise!

Have you heard of jumping worms? Introduced to North America in the late 1800s, they have recently begun invading natural habitats in the Northeast and Midwest. As they are voracious eaters, jumping worms quickly consume the top layer of organic material, making it difficult for plants to remain rooted and allowing nutrients to be washed away by rain. Once in the garden, worms can spread to surrounding natural areas and pose a threat to the ecosystem. To help reduce the spread of contaminated soil, we are focusing on swapping indoor plants.
