Kiara grew up in Mount Brydges, where there's only one stoplight and more cows than people. She is completing her master’s degree at the University of Toronto, where she studies green infrastructure and sustainable transportation, with a focus on how city planning can improve both environmental and human health. Her academic and professional work have inspired her commitment to building more equitable, livable cities through nature-based solutions. As the Mini Forests Program Assistant at Green Venture, Kiara is excited to help create healthy, climate-resilient spaces by supporting the growth of Hamilton’s urban forest. She believes that planting and caring for mini forests can bring people together, restore ecosystems, and inspire long-term environmental stewardship. In her spare time, Kiara loves to draw and paint, tend to her garden, and spend time with animals—especially her family’s 2 border-doodles, Spruce and Juniper.
