Environmental funding in Ontario has dropped sharply as attention and resources shift to other urgent social challenges. Many grassroots environmental groups are losing the grants they once relied on.
Since 1995, we've been dedicated to building a greener community in Hamilton. In 2026, environmental organizations across Ontario are losing funding as governments and foundations shift toward urgent social services. At the same time, climate impacts are growing and many people—especially youth, seniors, and equity-deserving communities—have less access to clean air and healthy green spaces.
Community support can ensure local environmental work continues. Donations help sustain programs that empower youth environmental leadership, transform urban green spaces for people and biodiversity, and connect children and seniors in Hamilton with nature—improving both ecological health and community wellbeing.
