Water is Life, Not a Commodity

This event has already taken place.

Join us this Saturday for a free community event. This gathering brings together local organizations, experts, and residents focusing on water issues affecting our region and beyond.

Event Schedule:

The morning will begin with a Land Acknowledgement and Mohawk Water Song led by Marie and Elaina Jones.

Next, a series of engaging presentations (10 minutes each, followed by questions), featuring:

  • Mike Christie (City of Hamilton)
  • Nancy Hurst (Save Our Streams)
  • Dani Lindamood (Water Watchers)
  • Alexia Da Poupada (Green Venture)

Connect with local groups, browse resources, and learn about ongoing initiatives from watershed protection to climate action.

Participating organizations include Green Venture, Save Our Streams, Bay Area Restoration Council, Hamilton Conservation Authority, Water Watchers, City of Hamilton, Neal Bonnor (check out his blog here), Hamilton Harbour Remedial Action Plan (HHRAP), Hamilton Naturalists Club, Hamilton 350, First Unitarian Climate Action Team, and SCAN (Seniors for Climate Action Now).

Families are welcome! Children’s activities will be available outdoors (weather permitting), making this a great event for all ages.

Come be part of the conversation and discover how you can help protect and support water in our community.

Share this event with family and friends and help spread the word!
