Frequently Asked Questions

Menders are volunteers who are skilled at repairing household items. The team of menders who volunteer for Repair Cafe’s have a variety of expertise, from small electronics, clothes, wooden objects, and leather goods, to toys and bikes, among others.

Your Mender will repair your item and bring your beloved item back to life. You can request advice and guidance and carry out the repair yourself. Please note that repairs are not guaranteed. However, we do our best to help you find a business that can. In addition, please respect that the focus for clothing fixes is on repair rather than alterations.

The work carried out at a Repair Cafe is done free of charge on a voluntary basis by the fixers available.

All fixers are knowledgeable with regard to the safe use of the tools and equipment available.
