Spring Garden Celebration at Laidlaw Church
The Laidlaw Garden Celebration will deepen our connection with local Indigenous knowledge, provide context on the importance of rainwater management, and offer tours of the garden where you can learn about the native plants and LID on site. There will be staff onsite to answer any plant and stormwater management questions. This is an exciting day of community, learning, and celebration featuring:
- 🌿 Indigenous speakers sharing ceremony and knowledge about environmental stewardship, traditional teachings, and the significance of water.
- 💧 Low Impact Development in action: rain gardens, permeable surfaces, rain tanks, and eco-friendly gardening practices.
- 🌻 Activities for kids!
- 🍲 Refreshments provided for attendees to experience traditional Indigenous dishes.
We aim to make this event welcoming and accessible to everyone, including kids. Light refreshments will be provided.
Donations for plant replacements at the Laidlaw community garden are welcome!
