Our passionate garden stewardship volunteers ensured 15,000 heirloom seed packs were distributed. 🗑️ 132 bags of trash collected
🍂 275 bags of invasive species and yard waste removed. Thank you to all who attended any of the 79 garden stewardship volunteer events held this year!

💧 73 green infrastructure projects built by residents
💧 899,664 litres of stormwater absorbed annually (by the Rain Ready Hamilton low-impact development (LID) features - based on average rainfall from the past 5 years.)
Connecting Children and Youth to Nature and Climate Action
- This year, our Education team held 240 events & workshops! Thank you to the 101 school groups that participated in field trips and in-school workshops. 6,000+ youth were engaged this year!
- Our outdoor children's program, Nature Kids, had 123 program participants!
Youth Opportunities:
⏱️ 1,500+ volunteer hours contributed, plus 480 paid youth hours for summer Nature Kids
🎓 160 students and youth mentored, including Nature Kids Guides, Youth Stewardship & Professional Skills participants, YouthQuake participants, and high school co-op students
Highlights:
Green Ventured launched a full-day Nature Kids Summer Camp to expand access to nature for Hamilton children and youth!
Community Science: 31 volunteers removed 200+ spongy moth egg sacs

Clothing Swaps & Waste Reduction
We hosted 1 clothing swap at EcoHouse, along with our Fall Plant Sale! 602 items were saved from the landfill, and the remaining 477 items were donated.
🌎 Estimated CO₂ reduction: 9,000 kg compared to buying new
💧 Estimated water saved: 2.4 million litres compared to buying new

Home Energy Efficiency
A Few highlights from our Energy Department:
- ☕ Across 3 Climate Cafés, we shared ideas, sparked action, and built meaningful connections.
- 💡 We engaged 860 people through climate cafés, workshops, webinars, and community events.
- 🏠 And we distributed 100 eco-home kits at our energy education workshops for newcomers to Canada, giving households practical tools and knowledge to live more sustainably.
