Barton St Stewardship -
Barton St E (Every Thursday!)

Commit to keeping Barton Street East green this summer by joining our weekly Barton Street Stewardship events.

Where: 571 Barton St E, Hamilton
When: Every Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.

We will care for the seven green spaces along Barton Street through activities such as invasive species removal, native plantings, litter cleanups, pruning, and more. These efforts help ensure that these sites continue to provide valuable climate resilience for our city. Each week, we will meet at the Barton Street Library (571 Barton Street East) and from there visit one or two nearby stewardship sites. This ongoing and inclusive event welcomes all community members to explore native gardens, stay active, and take part in caring for these important green spaces.

What to Bring / Wear: Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Bring a reusable water bottle. We will provide gloves, bags, and other tools. Please feel free to bring your own gloves and tools.

Transportation + Parking: Green Venture encourages active and sustainable transportation. Transportation via public transit is available, Route #2, Barton.

Family Repair Café at the Hamilton Public Library - In-Branch Program

Where: Central Library - Central - Hamilton Room
When: Saturday, May 03: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

AGE GROUP:   TEENS (12-18 YEARS)  OLDER ADULTS  ADULTS (18+)

EVENT TYPE:  GENERAL INTEREST

Bring children's toys, clothing and bikes to the library to be repaired by HPL's volunteer fixers. Learn new skills, promote sustainability and build community.

Youth Networking Night


Are you looking to build your skills, expand your network, and get involved in your community? Join Green Venture for a special event as part of our Youth Stewardship & Professional Skills Program!

Where: EcoHouse (22 Veevers Drive, Hamilton Ontario). 
When: May 7, 2025 at 5:00pm – 6:30pm EDT

This event is open to all youth ages 14+, whether you’re part of the program or just looking for an opportunity to connect. Meet local Hamilton organizations, develop your professional and networking skills, and learn how you can make an impact in your community. Whether you’re passionate about the environment, looking for volunteer opportunities, or just want to grow your confidence in professional settings, this event is for you! Snacks will be provided.

Climate Café

The climate crisis doesn’t just impact our environment. It affects our communities, our emotions, and the ways we live and work together.


Where: 📍 Cowork at the Cotton Factory - 301 -270 Sherman Avenue North, Hamilton, ON
When: Thursday, May 8, from 6:30–8:30 PM

This is a space to connect, reflect, and build resilience in the face of climate change.
At this free, community-led event, we’ll explore how climate change is showing up in our lives and in Hamilton, share perspectives and emotions, and learn more about what’s happening in the city.


Climate Cafés are informal, welcoming gatherings designed to foster open dialogue, emotional connection, and a sense of community. Whether you're feeling anxious about the future, inspired to take action, or just curious to learn from others, this is a space for open, supportive, and meaningful conversations. No prior knowledge is needed - just bring your thoughts, questions, and a willingness to listen and engage.

Dundas Library Stewardship Workshop - Dundas Public Library


Where: Dundas Public Library
When: Saturday, May 10th, 10am-12pm

Join us to learn about the native pollinator garden that surrounds the library and how to get involved in longer-term stewardship initiatives with the green spaces located in Dundas. We will be joined by Master Gardener Kirsten McCarthy, who imagined and brought this garden to life last fall. Together, we will clean up the garden and prepare it for its first spring.

Gardener or not, everyone is welcome! Refreshments and equipment will be provided. The Dundas Library is an accessible space. The front entrance is street level, and there is a ramp located at the back entrance. Bring your friends and family as we connect, contribute, and enjoy a greener Dundas.

The Magic of Nature - 30th Anniversary Party

Join us for a magical night as we celebrate 30 years of Green Venture with an unforgettable anniversary party—open to all supporters, volunteers, friends, and the community!
