Opportunities for learning, sharing, and taking action on energy in Hamilton.
What’s New with Green Venture’s Energy Program
We’ve got lots going on in Green Venture’s Energy Program, with new ways for community members and local groups to get involved in energy education and climate action. From hands-on learning opportunities to community conversations, we’re helping people across Hamilton build skills, save energy, and take meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future.
Eco-Home Kits for Community Groups
Our new Eco-Home Kits make it easy to bring energy-saving action right into your community. Each kit is designed for individual households and includes practical items like draft stoppers and LED bulbs, along with tips for making small, affordable improvements that reduce energy use at home. The kits are free for residents, made possible through funding from the Community Enrichment Fund and Ward 2. We’re partnering with local community groups to distribute the kits, making it simple to reach households and support residents in taking the next step toward a more energy-efficient home.

Energy Workshops for Everyone
We’re also offering accessible, engaging workshops on home energy efficiency. These sessions are ideal for renters, newcomers, seniors, or anyone who wants to learn the basics of how to save energy and stay comfortable at home. Participants learn about topics like heating and cooling, draft-proofing, understanding utility bills, and low-cost actions that add up to real savings. Workshops can be hosted in community spaces and adapted for different audiences. If your organization works with a group that would benefit, we’d love to collaborate.

Climate Cafés
Alongside our practical programs, we’re continuing to host Climate Cafés—informal, welcoming gatherings where people can come together to talk about climate change and community resilience. These sessions aren’t lectures or presentations; they’re conversations that build connection, understanding, and hope. Each café is a chance to listen, share, and imagine what a more sustainable Hamilton can look like.
If your group is interested in hosting a workshop, receiving Eco-Home Kits, or joining a future Climate Café, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can help make Hamilton’s homes — and communities — more energy efficient and climate ready.
